How We Can Help Your Business

Specialist network and security expertise for small and medium businesses — from health checks and Wi-Fi to complete project delivery.

Do You Know How Healthy Your Business Network Really Is?

Networks often grow gradually.

New switches are installed. Wi-Fi access points are added. Firewall rules accumulate. New internet connections appear and documentation becomes outdated.

Everything may appear to work — until it doesn't.

Our Network Health Check provides an independent technical assessment of your infrastructure.

We can review:

  • Internet connectivity
  • Network switches
  • Routing
  • Firewalls
  • Wi-Fi
  • Network security
  • Resilience and failover
  • Remote access
  • Hardware age
  • Software and firmware
  • Configuration
  • Documentation

What You Receive

A practical report explaining:

  • What is working well
  • What needs attention
  • Where the risks are
  • What should be fixed first
  • What can wait
  • What you should consider for the future

The objective isn't to sell you new equipment.

It's to give you a clear understanding of your current environment and what, if anything, should change.

Firewall & Network Security

Protect the Network Your Business Depends On

Your firewall controls the boundary between your business and the outside world.

Over time, firewall configurations can become complicated, outdated or poorly understood.

We provide independent firewall engineering and security services including:

  1. Firewall Health Check

We review the configuration and architecture of your firewall environment.

    This can include:

    • Security policies
    • Internet access
    • Remote access
    • VPN connections
    • Network segmentation
    • Firewall software
    • High availability
    • Logging
    • Administration
    • Configuration quality

    What You Receive

You receive a written report for the firewall policy in scope. It explains:

    • How the firewall is used today, in plain English: internet access, remote access, VPN connections and network segmentation.
    • Security policy findings, including rules that are overly broad, duplicated, unused or no longer match the business.
    • Configuration concerns covering firewall software, high availability, logging and how administrative access is controlled.
    • What is working well, what needs attention, and the risk of leaving each finding as it is.
    • Recommended actions in priority order, written so your IT team or existing provider can carry them out.

The health check is an assessment of the configuration we review. We do not change the firewall as part of it.

Remediation, configuration changes, continuous monitoring, incident response and helpdesk support are separate.

Business Wi-Fi

Reliable Wi-Fi Should Be Invisible

When Wi-Fi works properly, nobody thinks about it.

When it doesn't, everybody notices.

We design, troubleshoot and improve business wireless networks.

Whether you operate from an office, warehouse, workshop, retail environment or multiple locations, we can help determine what your wireless network actually needs.

Services include:

  • Wi-Fi health checks
  • Wireless troubleshooting
  • Coverage problems
  • Slow Wi-Fi
  • Connection problems
  • Wireless security
  • Guest Wi-Fi
  • Staff Wi-Fi
  • BYOD networks
  • Access-point upgrades
  • New wireless deployments

  • New office networks
  • Network upgrades
  • Office moves

One Engineer From Initial Requirement to Completion

One of the biggest problems with IT projects is losing technical knowledge between different stages.

One person gathers the requirements. Someone else designs the solution. Another engineer installs it. Then somebody completely different has to support it.

Important context can easily get lost.

Our approach is different.

One technical owner throughout the lifecycle of the project.

  1. Understand

We start by understanding your business, the problem and what you are trying to achieve.

  2. Assess

We examine your existing environment and identify dependencies, constraints and risks.

  3. Design

We create a solution appropriate for your business, budget and future requirements.

  4. Plan

We develop the implementation, testing and rollback approach.

  5. Deliver

We implement the solution or work alongside your existing IT provider to deliver it.

  6. Test

We verify that everything operates correctly.

  7. Document

We document what has actually been implemented.

  8. Handover

We ensure your internal team or IT provider understands the finished solution.

Complete Project Delivery

Someone on Your Side of the Table

Many small and medium businesses rely on external IT providers, telecommunications companies, MSPs and technology vendors.

Most provide valuable services.

But when a significant technical decision needs to be made, it can be useful to have someone independently representing your business.

We don't need to replace your existing IT provider.

We can work alongside them as your independent technical specialist.

We can:

  • Review supplier proposals
  • Review technical designs
  • Attend technical meetings
  • Challenge proposed solutions
  • Compare technical options
  • Review quotations from a technical perspective
  • Assess whether proposed equipment is appropriate
  • Review security recommendations
  • Help define requirements before requesting quotations

When Your Existing IT Support Can't Find the Problem

Some technical problems require deeper network expertise.

We can work directly with your internal IT team, existing MSP, internet provider or technology vendor to identify the underlying problem.

We provide senior-level troubleshooting for difficult or intermittent problems involving:

  • Networks
  • Firewalls
  • Internet connectivity
  • Wi-Fi
  • Routing
  • VPN
  • Performance
  • Packet loss
  • Intermittent connectivity
  • Multi-site connectivity

When a Technology Project Isn't Going to Plan

Projects sometimes become stuck.

The original engineer may have left.

The design may be incomplete.

Different suppliers may disagree about where the problem lies.

Or a migration simply isn't working as expected.

We can independently assess the situation, establish the technical facts and develop a practical route forward.

Technology Planning

Know What Needs Replacing Before It Becomes an Emergency

Technology shouldn't only be replaced after it fails.

We can help create a practical 12–36 month technology roadmap covering your network and security infrastructure.

This allows expenditure to be planned rather than appearing as an unexpected emergency.

This can identify:

  • Ageing equipment
  • Unsupported hardware
  • Software and firmware requirements
  • Security improvements
  • Wi-Fi upgrades
  • Firewall replacement
  • Network improvements
  • Internet connectivity
  • Resilience
  • Future capacity requirements
